We are very pleased to offer the newest addition to the Clavius lens series. As with all other focal lengths within the range, the 118mm shares a f2.0 aperture, Interchangeable aperture inserts, LF coverage, internal focusing, and the desirable image signature of the Helios 44 (Zeiss Biotar origin).

Inside the Clavius 118/2 lives a vintage Helios 44 - which will be carefully matched for age by serial number and by eye (for optical condition and coating variation) to the vintage glass within your other Clavius lenses. Sitting in front of the vintage glass is a very impressive, in-house designed and manufactured 7-element lens cell which is fully APO corrected and optimised to work in perfect unison with the internal vintage glass. This has been meticulously designed to increase the focal length of the Helios 44 by 2.05x, with no degradation in optical performance, full light transmission and with all of the desirable optical signature and bokeh rendering of the Helios 44 left intact.

Each lens is shipped with additional aperture disks in various squeeze ratios and aperture stops to match your existing lenses.

Lenses can be built in either silver or black to match your existing lenses.

Our most recent upgrades to the production of parts and mechanical assemblies has meant improvements have been achieved in terms of overall longevity, durability and serviceability on this lens, and our most recent sets of lenses.
