The second in a range of one-off ‘boutique’ lens sets. Truely unique in every way, and unlikely to be replicated by our many impersonators!

Produced by hand here in the UK, Arri LPL mount. Each of the four focal lengths in this lens set (24, 34, 50 and 75mm) contains a matched Jupiter-3 f1.5 optical block. Optimised for S35 sensors but happily capable of covering Alexa LF, Sony Venice, etc, this is the first time a complete set of lenses based upon the Jupiter 3 (sonnar design) optical formula has been available for cinematographic purposes. Up until now the desirable bokeh and depth of field fall off of sonnar type rangefinder glass has seen little use within motion picture photography due to the optical design not being suitable for wider angle lenses - the sonnar usually only gets implemented in longer focal length lenses. With the help of carefully optimised front mounted auxiliary lens cells a full set of four focal lengths is now possible - each sharing the same desirable fast aperture and the signature vintage character only achievable with the famous fast rangefinder lens dating all the way back to the 1940’s.

Lenses in this series will pop up occasonally and will typically originate as a passion project. If results are worthwhile the finished item will appear here. This means these lens sets will often only ever be made once. This working process is what I plan on doing to keep things fresh for myself as well as to go some way towards fulfilling the needs of cinematographers seeking truely different optics.
